Thanks to Irlam Silver Band
It was with great sadness that we heard of the demise of another local Band, Irlam Silver Band. We understand that they are hoping to keep going with a very small ensemble who are hoping to teach youngsters and we wish them every success in their proposed work.
The Eccles Borough Band were very pleased to receive a cheque for £1,000 from their trustees to help us with our finances, but sorry that it had to come at the expense of another Band. Our grateful thanks go to all those concerned with the Irlam Silver Band.
So sorry to read the sad news ( although late) that the last band I played with before I joined the Army in 1977 is no more.
