I started playing the cornet in 1991, aged 14. I was a founder member of the Smithills School Brass Band and played with Eagley Band. I studied for a degree in Band Studies at Barnsley College where I also played with Rossington Colliery Band on 1st Baritone until returning back to Bolton to play with The Hoover Band on both Solo Euphonium and then Soprano Cornet.
