Eccles Borough Band
About the Band
In the present Band, our ages vary from school age to the more mature players. Our ‘day time’ occupations are many and varied, from students, a doctor, nurses, engineers, businessmen, office workers and also five senior citizens, you name it, we do it! We all derive tremendous enjoyment from our music.
We are based within 15 minutes drive of Manchester City Centre and just a couple of minutes from the main motorway network (M60 & M602) and anyone is welcome to come down to one of our rehearsals.
The Band’s recent contest successes have included the Wilkinsons 3rd Section in 2006, back-to-back successes at the Butlins Mineworkers Championships in 2008 and 2009 and the North West Regional Championships in 2009, which gained them entry into the National Finals for the first time since 1993 and also sealed promotion to the Third section for 2010.
